We Need Volunteers for a Special Project

If you need a couple hours of sunshine and birdsong after SXSW week, we got you covered! We need help pulling up nutsedge on the farm and would love as many helping hands as possible. Nutsedge is one of the most frustrating and insidious weeds. Most weeds die after being uprooted, but nutsedge has the ability to resprout from a little nut/tuber under the soil. This means the nut has to be dug out as well as the roots or it will just keep coming back. Right now is the BEST time to get these nutsedges because they are just starting to sprout, but the nuts haven't had a chance to get too entrenched (or proliferate) making them much easier to pull. The next two weeks is the best time to get these buggers and we’d love your help! It is very meditative and the farm is such a beautiful place to be right now! We are expanding our volunteer days for the next two weeks to Thurs-Sat, 8am-12pm to accommodate more help. Join us March 14th, 15th, or 20-22.  Sign up to volunteer with us HERE.

Have You Ever Dreamed of Living on a Farm?

If you or anyone you know is looking for a place to live in Bastrop, Texas, I’m currently looking for the right tenant for a 4 bedroom/2 bath house here on the farm. It's separated enough from the fields to have its privacy but is only a 45 min drive from downtown Austin. I (Farmer Becky) would be your neighbor as I also live here in a tiny house by the fields. I’m excited to have new neighbors. If this might be you, e-mail me directly at becky@vrdnt.farm. You can view the rental listing HERE.

A Snapshot of VRDNT

Our incredibly talented CSA member, Joe Olmstead came out to VRDNT with his team last year to help us make a little video to introduce our farm to the world. We are SO excited to share it with you today. Joe shows what we do here so beautifully! I’m so proud to share this with you.
