The numbers are in–VRDNT Farm donated $5,850 in veggies in 2024! $2,610 of that came directly from CSA members donating your shares over the Christmas holiday and other weeks when you’re unable to pick up. It’s always an option for you to donate your shares instead of pausing whenever you can’t pick up, and there’s still time this year for you to donate your shares if you’re out of town for the holidays (reminder that the CSA is chugging right along through the new year, no breaks on our end this year).
The other $3,240 in the equation was the value amount of surplus and b-grade veggies donated to incredible local organizations. VRDNT's mission is to nourish the land and our local community by growing super-fresh, nutrient-dense veggies. We are so grateful to have your continued support to enact that mission here in Central Texas.
Where Do Donated Veggies Go?
For the first half of 2024, we donated all fresh veggies to Keep Austin Fed. Keep Austin Fed is a volunteer-powered organization that aggregates and distributes excess food to community members in need.

Beginning on July 1st, we began partnering with Sunday Lunchbox. We are SO EXCITED about this new partnership. Sunday Lunchbox is focused on children's food security and access to fresh, healthy food. Families in need receive weekly bags of healthy, minimally processed food and supplemental meals cooked in-house at Sunday Lunchbox's kitchens.

Thank you, thank you, thank you CSA members! Your direct donations and CSA membership supports us to give back to our community.
Much Love and Gratitude,
Farmer Becky & the VRDNT Farm team
