Transplant Varieties + Planting Tips

Updated: Mar 1

SITE SELECTION

Before you get started, make sure the site you have selected has plenty of sunlight (not shaded by trees/ buildings). Water access is the next most important factor, ensure you have a hose or irrigation to reach the area to regularly water your baby plants. Your transplants will need more frequent waterings after planting (until their roots are better established).

SITE PREPARATION

Fork up or hoe the soil before you plant, this will loosen the soil and make it easier for the plant roots to penetrate the surrounding soil. Make sure to pat the soil down and snugly plant the transplants in the loosened soil to ensure good root-soil contact.

WHEN TO PLANT

Check out this planting guide for when to plant your transplants.
